Music and movie industries aren't made of superstars driving million dollar sports cars, there are thousands of regular workers just like everyone, who get an average (and often below-average) wage. They work as technicians, engineers, handymen, operators. Common people with a family and a rent to pay. You walk into a shop and take the merchandise for free, the shop closes and the owner goes broke. You download an album or a movie without paying for it, one of those people loses his job. Simple.

Or you know they could just lower ticket cost to the point of it being worth seeing movies in theaters rather than pirating. You know like how pirating video tapes brought the cost down from $100 a movie to like $20.

people should look up how money moves in the movie industry. Its interesting how a movie can make millions more than it cost to make but still lose huge amounts of money on the books.
