This reenactment was held at Brooksville, Florida, on Sunday January 22, 2012. Usually, it is a reenactment of the Brooksville Raid. The Battle of Shiloh, also known as the Battle of Pittsburg Landing, occurred in SW Tennessee. 111,511 combatants were involved, 66,812 Union and 44,699 Confederate. Casualties were Union: 13,047; Confederacy, 10,699. Killed were Union: 1,754; Confederacy 1,728. The Confederate army under Gen. P. G. T. Beauregard, Gen. Albert Sydney Johnston having been killed the first day, was driven from the field after surprising Maj. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant on the first day and causing him to retreat. The Confederate army retreated to a position in Northern Mississippi.

  • @VassilliHD That is huge! I hope you have a better announcer than the one I attended and made the YouTube of. I cut as much of his comments as possible and even removed the audio in favor of the music I added. He had a good voice and presentation but his comments were too casual. I thought they should have been more sincere and solemn.

  • @jandbrare I promise that I did not take it for an Insult. I know for a fact that the Blue & Gray event (The One I am attending) Currently has over 3000 reenactors registered. And it is still 2 months away. I cannot say for sure how many the A.O.T. event has, but it will surely be up there. I just wish the leadership of the two groups could find a way to work together and make it a truly memorable event. But so far, both groups are set on one way.

  • @VassilliHD Didn't mean to insult. You never know when replying to a comment how informed is the commentor. I'll bet those will be big events in Tennessee? The one is Florida was small, as you can tell from my video.

  • @jandbrare Sir, I know this. And I was referring to the fact that for the 150th Anniversary of the Battle of Shiloh, there will be 2 reenactments, on the same days, portraying the exact same battles, no more than 5 miles apart. This event here was hosted in Florida. I am refering to the 2 other events hosted in Tennesse.

  • @VassilliHD The Civil War battle lasted 2 days, and this video is a recording of the reenactment of Day 2.

  • Wait... Now there are 3 SHILOHS?????
