Bumby does die, the ambiguity lies in whether Alice of Wonderland (with the cool blue dress) is a separate being of London Alice, or just a mental projection of herself. Is Wonderland Alice just a part of London Alice's imagination, and her transformation just a manifestation of her break from self pity and sadness? Or does she actually transform into another being, a stronger, more confident entity with super-human powers that possesses the ability to move between realities?
