there are some people that just do not get numb from lidocaine , septocain, mepvicaine, ect. Yet they need to have a tooth extracted or worked on for health reasons. bc sadly they don't take care of their teeth. If this was the case with this patient..she knew what she was getting into, & yes during this she would react & such, but it must be done.

I have a severe gag reflex that almost always results in the dentist pulling the plastic x-ray bit out of my mouth AT LEAST twice. I am almost 13 (boy) and I have no idea when I go to the dentist next. I would appreciate if someone could tell me how to get through this and the part where they put a foam piece full of....something...in your moth without gagging. I do great with the cleaning and other things. Its so bad my mom put a popsicle stick infront of me and i started to gag. Please help!

@Vroldekhan I agree that dentist should have given her another shot of novocain or what ever they use to stop the pain
