i'm wondering if there's a possibility that the stones are not moved by human. they could be moved by tide, or they are fragments of a meteorite. They landed there by nature, and then human crafted on it.

So the little success he had was getting the anchor stable and that was only because the head leader suggested a different technique when the Bob was going to call it quits. For the most part Bob just stands around when he knows they can use as much man power as they can. Bob you suck!

Perhaps it took a long time and there were 20+ Olmecs working on each head?

Firstly, if you want to do, you'll need better team leaders than tweedle dum and tweedle dee. One guy's shorts and shirt are so tight that one wonders if he was cruising in the jungle; the other guy, the sculptor, is so out of shape that it's amazing enough he didn't have a heart attack the first day.
