I say that becuase people voted his in not because of some profound 'change' coming but they didn't want to continue 4more years of the Bush doctrine and that's exactly what they got anyway if not worse. Things will be so bad by the time his first term is over that people will call the bush years the good ole days.
Also the race factor. White people feel pretty bad about the way we treat/treated mixed people or even non-whites. This might have been a make ammends sympathy vote.

Actually, they didn't reprocess the fuel rods as long as the agreement was in effect and KEDO made progress building at the reactor site. And they have both been let down by Russia and the US, getting no reactors. So it will be hard to regain their trust in the outside world not really the other way around. From their perspective it's the outside world that has let them down. They might be able to build some weapons, but they have declined hugely since the 80's. The US failed to keep their part.

North Korea is always pulling this shit. I don't really know what I would do if I saw the North Korean ambassador in real life. Just like Kim Jung Ill he always has that silent smirk, someday there gonna cross the line. The largest hangar of long range US Air Force bombers in the world is in Japan.
