CWU TV News | BT Barrow Call Centre Saved

After six months of tough negotiations and campaigning by CWU and the local community, BT has reversed its decision and is to keep its Directory Enquires Call Centre in Barrow-In-Furness open saving 52 jobs. BT has vowed to keep the Call Centre open through upgrading the sites technology infrastructure. At the heart of this campaign has been the local community with support from local MP John Woodcock, the Furness Enterprise and the Northwest Evening News. (Created January 2011)
