@digiboog MMJ rocks.
MMJ and MM have been around for about the same amount of time, both bands released 5+ albums to critical acclaim, and both seem to be getting progressively better. Jim writes beautiful songs, but they're true to classic rock aesthetics. MM have more modern influences (Pixies, Built to Spill) but took rock in a very unique and now frequently imitated direction. They've both made huge contributions to music and commenting on either's lasting quality seems uninformed to me

Finally someone's opinion about music that ACTUALLY MATTERS! Never thought I'd see the day. I like Isaac Brock and now I like Jim James. DKmode50 doesn't like Isaac Brock because he gets fucked up and plays concerts, this world is starting to spark some senses. And I'm sorry about your nausea.

Are you deaf? Listen to this man's voice. I mean, Modest Mouse is a great band, but no one has Jim Jame's voice.
And I'm pretty sure that it's agreed Conor Oberst is the best songwriter lyric wise.

In my opinion they are the next pink floyd of our generation.... for you pink floyd fans nobody will replace them but these guys are amazing.... look out. too much feeling in each tune, worldly, different, MMJ.

Great song and even better songwriter. Modest Mouse is not even in the same ballpark as MMJ. We will see who is still around in 20 years - as long as Jim doesn't fall any more stages :)
