Le Tour Tonbridge 8 July 2007 Steward's Briefing 0730am

Stewards from around the UK signed up to assist in Le Tour. This was taken at West Kent College. If only we knew we would be up against some 'stubborn adult spectators' who refused to move and would continue to chalk the road 5 minutes before the cavalcade or the cyclists without any care for their welfare or anyone elses! Some even gave us stewards 'lip'. Fortunately most were ok, just over enthusiastic and moved out of the way. It was a lot easier for the stewards who had barriers. They had an easy life! Mark Cavendish was in collision with one spectator.. but that wasn't on my patch.. phew!
