Cats learn by Trial-and-error and Observation, not by discipline. Show the cat what to do and it might do it, if it feels motivated.

Why not just let the cat hide, and come out when s/he feels comfortable? That's what I have done, and now they are getting used to visitors, but on their own terms.

It seems alot of force and negative reinforcers are used when she works with cats in her video, logically causing a negative association with the activity and handler, in the longrun. Should check out HiwdiniGuru's cat info from ASPCA-seems much more up to date and effective...and is by a behaviorist.
