Watch in HQ. This is an amazing phenomenon in which the moon, Venus and Jupiter "align" or come together quite close in the night/dusk sky between the time period of November 30-December 2, particularly on December 1, 2008 is the peak of the event. Unluckily the weather wasn't cooperating on Monday night for us here in San Jose, CA. Got densely foggy...But this is a nice video I made that'll still be quite wonderful! ( just say the "before and after" the moon, Venus and Jupiter aligned) hehe.

Some astronomy to know: Our moon is about 252,000 miles from Earth while Venus is 94 million miles away and Jupiter is 540 million miles away. The next time the two planets and the moon will make this rare alignment will be on November 18, 2052!

  • NOT Star - PLANET VENUS OMG,

Star is the SUN like others stars in universe ...

  • @damiro25 Ok. I just used "star" to represent those little shining objects in the sky. I should've worded it better like, "that upper star is really the planet Jupiter". Thanks for noticing.

  • Nice video... Who sings this song??

  • This song is by "The Garagista All Stars".

  • when did venus and jupiter become stars? silly me, thought they were planets. and i,ll be dead next time this happens. boo hoo

  • :D Venus and Jupiter are planets. They are so far from us that they just look like stars from Earth.

  • I watched this Aligment and shot some video of it. This time of year it is very difficult to watch the stars.
