Irelands Hunger Strikes of 1980/81 were a Watershed in the Irish Republican Struggle. 10 Young Irish Republican POWS gave their lives to achieve Political Status for their fellow POWS and Defeat the British Governments attempt to Criminalise the Struggle that they Represented. 2011 see's the 30th Anniversary of their Sacrifice. This video is about Remembering that Sacrifice. For those who lived through that time it will bring back Poignant Memories, for those who were not born or too young to Remember, hopefully it will encourage you to play a part in Irelands Struggle for Freedom, as Bobby Sands said 'Everyone has their own particular role to play, no part is too big or too small'. The nature of our Struggle may have changed from that time but our Struggle continue's. Remember their Sacrifice and don't just wish for a United Ireland, help make it happen.

  • GOD REST THEIR SOULS AND YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN Tiocfaidh ar la

  • @fallzskin To sum up, I support the reunification of Ireland. But only on such terms as are acceptable to the majority of each currently-existing polity of the island.

And if you want to pull the start chain on thinking, then consider that what some people would claim as a right for Ireland as a majority population, others would (and did) quite happily claim the same for all of the British Isles in the form of the UK, including Ireland, and for pretty much all the same reasons. If the people of the Irish Republic would have their choices respected by the British, then it stands to reason that the choices of the Northern Irish be the same.

  • @fallzskin "You must ask yourself in which constitution and by whose law."

The law and constitution supported by the majority of the residents of the place in question. What else? I know it's a thorn in the side of other Irish people, but for the world to recognize anything else opens up the door for ANY place with a larger population than an adjacent one to claim pre-eminence. There's a lot more than "commerce" at stake; there's the existence of smaller countries everywhere.

  • @PatchesRips You must ask yourself in which constitution and by whose law. Not ever by Irish folk or law. Not by any ínternational law is it acceptable to steal another's land. That it is tollerated by the international community because of commerce is sickening to say the least and to blindly follow a corrupt system is stupidity of the highest order. Time to wake up. Time to start thinking for yourself.

  • ah Gods! no matter how many years pass, marcella. It pains my heart when I think of you and your comrades that made the ultimate sacrifice. If there is a God, I know you sit by his right hand. I only hope that we have done right by you with this compromise. Forever in my heart. tál
