Timelapse of the DBA drilled and slotted rotors and Hawk performance pads installation. At a relaxed pace, it took about an hour, including application of the non-friction heat resistant compound. Afterwards, took the car out just to see how it would do from 0-60-0 MPH. Car wouldn't hook up on the first two launches, then hooked well and stopped great on the 3rd attempt. Total cost for rotors and pads was about $1000.
Mods include American Racing long tube headers, Magnaflow exhaust, Rotofab CAI, Powerbond underdrive pulley, DBA drilled and slotted rotors and Hawk performance pads, throttle body port & polish and East Texas Muscle Cars custom dyno tune - 371RWHP and 387RWTQ. • Ok being the old man and the clutz I am ..... Always remember to lift the jack handles up it saves your shins and possible face plants .... Oh by the way fastest brake job ever bwahaha

  • @Knukyknuk Haha....duly noted :)

  • Pity GM killed off this old and loved breed especially right when this G8 is such a beautiful vehicle. It is rare to find a stick-shift yet alone a V8 here in Canada =(

BTW are those DBA rotors really good? I have never warp rotors on my Firebird but with my truck I have tried Raybestos, Federal-M, PBR, Brembos and others ... they last just 1 year! (Is that a V1 radar?)

  • @phr1sk37 So far, so good on the rotors. And yeah, very observant....it is a V1 :)

  • Hey Fro, was there some clicking? I was trying to listen to the pad noise if any extra. Next how far was the stop in feet? My G8 stops well from factory but better stopping is a plus. Any idea on the largest width of the rear tires? Thinking of going to a 265.

  • @Jjackson339 The stock rotors were beginning to shimmy a bit, so just figured if I'm gonna replace them, might as well upgrade!

You can do 285's on aftermarket wheels, but not on your stock wheels, if that's what you're asking...
