Tribute To Chris Latta

A video tribute to one of the greatest and most memorable voice over artists of the 1980's and early 90's.
Also known as Christopher Collins, this stand-up comedian was perhaps best known for providing the original voices of Starscream and Cobra Commander from Transformers and G.I. Joe respectively.
He was also the original voice of C.M. Burns and Moe the bartender on The Simpsons before leaving during the first season.
Chris died on June 12th 1994 of a cerebral hemorrhage following a long illness. However, several comments made by his co-workers suggest that there may have been more to his death.
In any event, it has been 15 long years since we heard his memorable and unique voice. This video tribute is for him.

You gotta love that voice who did Starscream and Cobra Commander, some say it sounded annoying but those critics can go to hell. He also did the for one of the monsters in the short lived cartoon called "Inhumanoids" where he voiced one of the monsters that says DECOMPOSE and turn other living creatures into monsters. Also, he played a mugger in the famous Seinfeld episode where he tried to mugged Kramer on the subway. Also, one of Al Bundy's bowling buddies/part of NO MA'AM. R.I.P. Great Voice.

I thought that Tom Kenny (who voiced Starscream) was channeling Chris Latta when I heard him in the Transformers: Animated cartoon. He sounded so much like Chris in the first few episodes of the original G1 show.

Chris Latta is to Starscream & Cobra Commander what Kevin Conroy is to Batman & Mark Hamill is to the Joker..the definitive voice for a classic character (or more than one in his case). I remember watching that Seinfeld episode and had no idea that guy on the train was him. Kramer almost got robbed by Cobra Commander & Starscream! R.I.P. Chris Latta

A funny guy and he was the voice of some of my favorite childhood characters. That is a shame...
