  • Thanks for your comments. I'm sure our director will read this.

  • Hey this is great! I used to listen to this all the time, and I have been searching for it. It's hard to find when all you can remember is the name 'metamorphosis', lol. But now I've found it, and you guys sound great! Thanks for posting!

  • Your comments are music to our ears.

  • Thanks for the great comment. I do love playing in commuity band. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I'm playing for 25 years. We had 2 players retire from the band at 85 years old.

  • well said, back off guys, seriously, just take one look at them, i mean, honestly, do they even look near each other's age? they probly played in high school, maybe college, and just wanted to play some more. once again, at least they're keeping the music alive.

  • Oh good Lord. This is a community band made up of adults with jobs, spouses, children, mortgages, medical bills, aging parents and ever-shrinking 401ks that manages to get together (probably once a week) and enjoy a little relief from their everyday lives by playing together and enjoying music. You can't expect them to be phenomenal. Like another poster said, "they're keeping the music alive" and they are AWESOME for doing that. You kids need to get a clue. *steps off soapbox*

  • We are playing this in our marching band this year.. its a marvelous piece, and im excited to perform it, but these guys did a really exciting and marvelous job.. Well done! :D

  • I knew in the first five seconds that this was too slow, but a music student whose video of this march is no longer posted commented that the piece is "super hard." Give the geezers some credit, will you, for making music.

  • Yeah, this is bad. It's nice that they wanted to play such great literature but this ensemble definitely has more than a few issues that need to be addressed!

  • You know, by the sight of the comments, I was expecting a horribly morphed monster of what was once known as "March of Symphony Metamorphosis".

But what I'm hearing, it's not nearly as bad as what I was expecting. I mean, yeah, it could use some work, but it's not TERRIBLE.

  • Respect to the director for holding this together...this could have been a total disaster.

I have to say, the sustained horn interval at 1:52 is easily most out-of-tune open 5th I've ever heard in my life. A quarter tone off at least, for 8 long, exposed seconds with no attempt to adjust the pitch. I laughed so hard, I almost fell out of my chair!

It's baffling to me than an ensemble can mentally conceive such an intricate, sophisticated piece, yet have such a massive ear-training issues.

  • haha there's a select few of them that actually sound pretty good...

  • mad props

  • give 'em a break, at least they're keeping the music alive
