It my opinion it was AMC who made Jeep who they are today. Jeep was bland and boring while under ownership of Willys and Kieser. As soon as AMC bought Jeep in the late 60's they turned them around. Hell thats the only reason Chrysler wanted AMC was for its Jeep division. ChryCo got a boost tho by getting most of AMC's enginerring department that helped design all their cab-forward cars of the 90's.

@LeviMan2001 Far and away the worst comment I've ever seen on youtube.

@jakesaintsrow123 I remember the Wagoneers most of all and a lot of those convertibles. Can't remember the names of most of them, but I do miss the days of seeing the old AMC letters on a car. They really were a decent car company but they didn't stand a chance with all the foreign auto-makers making a stand in the market. GM and Crysler look like they're on their way out and they've been around over 100 years combined.

do you remember seeing all of these vehicles around in 1985?

Too bad AMC had to hook up with Renault! History will repeat itself soon the new chrysler /fiat merger. Not a good idea!! Fiats were always garbage, remember them from the 70s.??!! RIP AMC!!

There's a great coffee table book called, Crap Cars, by Richard Porter. Several of these Renaults are featured, and he describes the Alliance as, "This was a car of such crushing dismalness and feeble construction that it made you want to walk to work, even if your office was 70 miles away." I think that pretty much sums it up.

Wow. It's amazing that AMC offered so much. That really got me in the spirit of AMC (no pun intended). Let's put aside any quality control problems with the Renaults. They are, for the 80s, sexy cars. The Jeep is an American classic, and the Eagle would've evolved come the early 90s. RIP AMC... Chrysler really didn't do them justice.
I love how it says im about to lose control when he's doing the slalom

How cool! American Motors was way ahead of their time, luxury SUV's, AWD cars.
