  • Well the compulsions are realistic but he wouldn't be telling it to people.

I have slight OCD myself and I can assure you it's really embarrassing to say to people (specially in the moment you are having the compulsions).

The problem is that you know it's irrational and that keeping poking the same table 30 times with your left hand until you get it right has absolutely no reason to keep you from failing at life but you can't help it, you have to do it.

  • The Aviator was also really good in showing someone suffer from OCD.

  • Oops you're

  • Dude, your in a hospital. EVERYHTING IS CLEAN. They cover their computer keyboards with SARAN WRAP.

  • People explain they have it as we know it is not US it's something separate from us the distinction must be made. I'm not insane I have a biological condition. It is true that we thrive in academic settings. Often brilliance comes at a devastating cost :(

  • I count stuff all the time but my nimbers are usually in sequences of threes

  • he may tell it to people. Some people with ocd have obsessive reassurance seeking.

  • @iheartlux You should join Mapofmates. com and talk to us other sufferers.

  • Y do people in movies/tv always explain that they have OCD? I had people call me OCD when I was growing up, long b4 I knew what it meant. People recognize it, it tends to stick out like a sore thumb...yes we can do ridiculous things but there's no need to keep bringing it up. Do ur thing and go on. Anyone that knows or loves u won't ask for an explaination, they usually just smile and hide their messes =)

  • I have never met anyone with OCD that is this 'out there' about it... Even with my own OCD I never told anyone. Even though it's unrealistic, I suppose it's good that they at least showed somebody with the disorder :)
