The Micro could have been successful if it used the existing/standardised power cables, the same linked cables as other Advance generation designs, and backed up some of its retro-aesthetics with some actual backward compatibility Nobody would have complained if they'd made it slightly bigger to include the extracircuitry the backward compatibility would have taken.
For something so small they made it needlessly complicated.
