Lower Back stretches aren't one of the posture exercises everyone should be doing. They should only be performed by people who have a posture that predisposes them to tight back muscles.

This includes postures with an increased lumbar lordosis (a greater backwards curve of the lower back) or an anteriorly tilted pelvis (the top of the pelvis is rotated forward).

This video brought to you by http://posture-exercises.blogspot.com and shows how to perform some appropriate lower back stretches.

  • hmm... i think i have lordosis. does anyone else feel their tailbone stick out MASSIVELY when they lie down? my lower back feels really uncomfortable doing those stretches :(

  • I have this, It hurts when I stand for a long time! just sucks!

  • i'm pretty excited to try these because i can't seem to get any relief from my lordosis and it causes me quite a bit of pain. thanks for posting

  • hi. thanks for video- very useful. just wondering- u emphasise that the exercises arnt for everyone, only if you have tight back muscles. I have lordosis but don't know if i have tight back muscles. I do have tight quads, hamstrings, and gluteus and hip flexors. Should I still do these exercises?
