A while back I got the idea of pointing my camera at the kettle in my kitchen because the distortion in the reflection made me think of an anamorphic lens. Since I didn't have my power cord when I thought of it, I couldn't try it out.
But on Wednesday that power cord arrived, and last night I finally got around to trying it out. The results were interesting; it's a nice wide-angle shot of my kitchen, although there isn't a lot of height to the shot due to technical limitations (the height of the kettle). And, obviously, there's some distortion. I've worked out the aspect ratio to be approximately 4.8:1.
