Currently still in the development stage, Airbots by Wiz Corporation are flying robots built for fighting. Airbots designer Kensaku Kusunoki talks about the development process: "There are many toys that you can play with on the ground, such as remote control cars, but there aren't so many toys out there that you can play with in the air. So if you're thinking about designing a remote controlled flying toy, you normally think of a helicopter shape, but in order to reduce the cost i decided to make it wired to the controller. The next thing I thought about was how to make it lightweight, so I came up with the idea of using styrofoam in the shape of a robot for the body. Lastly, I wanted to make it easy use to without a lot of complex controls, so i made it work simply with just a pull of a switch." The design of the Airbot is yet to be finalized but distributor Happinet Corporation are planning for a November release in Japan.
