  • This is still my favorite knife of all time. Glad I bought one when I did

  • @devouringfate Totally agree. I have not found a knife that beats this one yet. This knife never got enough attention. How a knife like the SOG Tomcat (a very good knife) can stay in production for 25+ years and the Benchmade Rukus (at least equally good if not better) goes out of production, I don't understand. I got the winewood scales for mine while those were available. It is just a great all around knife.

  • The 2008 Benchmade catalogue I have describes the 610 as having an "Auto-Axis" locking mechanism, but this doesn't seem to have one - right?

  • @CNCTEMATIC The knife only had the Axis lock. Not sure what the "auto" designation is. The Axis lock as you see it on this video was the way the knife was produced. Those lucky ones got their hands on one before it was discontinued.

  • I'm trying to buy this knife but no one has it. I would love to have it, can anyone tell me if u have seen it on any web site? Thanks

  • @TheKnifehunter Benchmade discontinued this knife, but I would recommend you look on the secondary market. I own one and got the winewood scales for it when those were available. I love the knife and consider it about as close to the "perfect knife" as it gets IMO. Keep looking, if you find one it is worth grabbing.

  • @wwwknivestowncom Thanks very much for your reply. I'm in Australia. A local store has a few new 610's... for $450!! We generally get ripped for knives down here, but that seemed too high so I wondered if it was an auto.

Benchmade do have an "Auto-Axis" on many of their auto knives if you look at the Pro catalogue, BTW. You pull it back and out comes the blade. Dunno why they put that in the old catalogue I have tho.

Anyway thanks again for the information Bob.

  • Hmm the best knife I have ... well i have the rukus and 3 mini rukuses ;-) But I modified the minirukus a bit so you can more easy open it with a single hand movement without using your fingers. I cary it around for 3 years now, use it every day. And it is easy to make lefthanded ...

  • Hey.. cool review. You give nutnfancy a run for his money LOL!

  • Very complete review. Has anyone ever told you you have a great voice? Seriously like a radio personality or someone like that. It really does make a difference when watching this video. Thx a bunch.
