Stevie Wonder on Talk Box {Life of Autotune}

This is Talk-Box, and HE'S PLAYING EVERY NOTE you hear in his keyboard. His singing is only valid in terms of what he's saying through the air in the tube, not how he's singing it (melodically). It is his playing that gives the signal the notes he desires.
Autotune, as it's name indicates, AUTOMATICALLY places your "wrongly" sung notes in the right place (frequency-wise), without you necesarilly having any knowledge of music.
No comparisson between the two...

@ziontifikpuntocom he sure did... Stevie took him out of school to have him play with his band. He was THAT good and young!

@bbs528 like @sixtringsamurai88 said, this is a song by (one of the greatest ever) Burt Bacharach called "Close To You" which is from the 60s a bit before they invented the Talk-Box.

@hoovoo Michael Sembello from Maniac? Did he play with Stevie?
-
what's the song? he uses talk box in the original?
-
@sixstringsamurai88 possibly Michael Sembello...

@ziontifikpuntocom awesomely explained, wouldn't change a word.

This song is (They Long To Be) Close to You by Burt Bacharach.
Stevie just kills it. This is amazing. Anyone know the guitarist accompanying in the background? Obscure question, I know.

@JoProStudio Really, this is something completely unrelated to autotuning. This is like posting a video of a demo of an ARP Odyssey and tagging it as "BIRTH OF THE MIDI CONTROLLER"

I can say one thing...Autotunes a pile of shit.Sorry.
Talkbox, vocoder, autotune are acctualy three different things.

We know this. I say they are in the same Family, meaning they effect some of the same things.
