eBow piano, "fundamental" mode

An eBow on an upright piano string, showing the default "fundamental" mode which is intended to excite the root node of the string. Here the eBow is so far down on the string that it excites the first partial instead.

The same effect works on any steel or steel-core string including an acoustic guitar and the lowest 11 strings of the classical harp.

Sustain is infinite (up to the life of the battery ;))

you might have more success trying it on a higher string. i've never gotten my ebow to work on my bass guitar well.

@mindbodylightsound10 It works fine enough here for demonstration. It works great on large strings, just takes more time to vibrate (for the magnet to move the mass of the heavier strings.

Higher strings also tend to be short and tighter and don't work as well in harmonic mode (fewer partials are excited).
