Lindo Parque y Catedral/Cathedral: Comayagua, Honduras.

This Cathedral is found next to Comayagua's central park. The city lies equidistant between Guatemala City and Leon, Nicaragua arranged so by early Spanish Conquistadors for ease of transportation and communication in Central America. Comayagua became a city in 1557 and was the Honduran capital as a province from 1540, early republic days 1821 and until 1880 when Tegucigalpa was declared the capital of Honduras.The city itself is built according to the Old Spanish tradition, a square central park and streets laid out in a square fashion. Old homes and buildings are silent testimony of the cities old heritage.
