I'm studying the importance of roles and separate identities in psychology at the moment, and it's very interesting.

To all the people who say they wouldn't be affected in this situation don't realise how often they use identities themselves. You're one person around your parents, another around your friends.

People adapt to new situations to identify socially.

The prisoners did not know only three or four days had passed. There were no clocks available to them and there were no windows, so they never knew what time of day or night it was, especially since the guards were waking them up at 2 in the morning to harrass them.
