FLOOD sirens providing an early warning system for coastal residents will be scrapped, it has been confirmed.
Essex County Council branded the system, which cost more than £16,000 a year to run, out of date.
There are 36 flood sirens across the county, including in West Mersea, Brightlingsea, Wivenhoe and Jaywick.

@PascalR95 civil defense siren, air raid siren (check wiki)
-
@PascalR95 it looks like a Castle Casting siren.

What's the name of these sirens?
-
We really need to bring these back widespread. SMS and Internet warning are simply not enough. The generation from the Cold War who knows the signals are still around so it wont take to long for the public to know about ciivil defense prcedures.
Plus im sure they're wuite cheap to make and sureley our new systems will be safer than EMP than the old phone wire systems.
