A great early performance of Family off thier primier album "Music In A Dolls House", great material, neat to see a beardless Rodger Chapman.

Jim King gave Family an edge with his saxophone and harmonica playing, no doubt about it. Only the J. Geils Band had a full-time sax/harmonica player, Magic Dick Salwitz, and he wasn't nearly as good as King.

@fishdeschois I couldn't agree more. I saw Family several times in 68 and 69 and Jim King was knockout, especially on tracks like Weaver's Answer and A Song for Me. He was one of the most exciting sax players ever. I have been looking in vain for a clip of him playing sax on Youtube.

@fishdeschois You are right. Jim King was phenomenal. They were at their best when he was with them. His sax playing was so exciting live on stage on tracks like Weaver's Answer and A Song for Me. I saw them so many times during this period. Unforgettable.

This band, yes. But not in this video. And his name is John Weider.
