@LisasViolinStudio : woah, i never knew all young children have double-jointed thumbs? Bc all my kids do. Don't seem so obvious now that they are older. Although.....their dad still has! LOL!

Adorable 4 year old student with a lovely bow hold explained so well by her teacher. Sweet rapport between the teacher and student.
Bravissimo to both!

Do you have any suggestions for kids who have double jointed thumbs? Thanks.

How to prevent the weight of the bow on the last finger? Cause my last finger is very stiff when holding the bow in the vertical position downwards. I dont know if you understand. But if you could help, thanks =)

Hi,
I don't want to prevent the weight on my fourth finger. I use that finger to control the weight at the frog.

Hi Lokan,
In my experience all young children are double-jointed. So, learning a correct position (whether left or right hand) at a very young age takes longer than the shortcuts used in Suzuki. But it can be done - just with patience! That is why I use a pencil first with my little ones - it doesn't have the weight of the bow, so I can concentrate solely on finger placement.
