Walt chasing a fly doing all this silly stuff, simply RIDICULOUS!
-
@redhairmarimo it did serve a purpose, the first time i watched it i didn't like it much but the 2nd time around i saw it's purpose----it showed the bond between walt and jesse and set up the last two episodes where walt saves jesse and then jesse saves walt.

This episode was both good and bad IMO.
Good because it worked so well outside of the main story. Bad because the writers targeted it (and expected it) to be a fan favorite. 99% of the time that is a bad thing because they usually target the lowest common denominator of viewers. That is why there is so much slapstick comedy in the episode.

It's called symbolism man, and no, this episode was a great way to analyze the characters' current situation. It's episodes like this that make this show real. It's brilliantly written.

and "Fly" also sets up Walt saving Jesse's life in the episode before the finale.
this episode was great

Awesome episode. Don't get the haters.

this episode sucked so hard. The one episode that served no purpose.
It's purpose was to reintroduce the Jesse/Walt relationship that had been on the rocks, and that they had a deep bond together whether they wanted to admit it or not. This obviously was done to set the stage for the season finale.
