If he didn't give credit, and he is claiming that he came up with the design of the dress himself, he's a liar and a thief. If he had used the Ethiopian traditional dress as inspiration for a altered version, then he would deserve credit. This dress literally looks like the ones my family buy from the market when they go to Ethiopia -- same length, design, everything.

that's the thing with culture.... it spreads.. and beauty prevails always... if something is beautiful others will be drawn to it. If I like an Indian Saree, I'll wear it.. am I Indian, no. That is life.... can anyone offer up what he should do... like DONATE money towards famine or the artisans of Ethiopia?

I forgot to mention, but some people are watching this video because of the imitation scandal, not because he is famous. In fact I was not aware of him as a designer until this scandal.

With all due respect you your opinion, I am from Ethiopia and his "incorporated dress" looks exactly like the traditional dress. The only difference between his dress and the original is the length. Inspiration means making an entirely new dress with hints of the original not make an imitation. Regardless if he is a world-renowned designer, other world-renown designers have copied other peoples design, it is not uncommon.

Anyways what if we dub him as a world renowned fashion plagiarist; a celebrity of theft and accomplished fraudster.
