English has 15 sounds using 5 vowels. My system uses simple words (cat, pen, fish, pot, sun, moon, dog, foot, house) to help non-native speakers say heed, head, bite, bitten, father or hot, rough or son, through or soon, caught or bought, or pause, could or book or put, loud or south... Learn more about this simple system at http://www.FreeEnglishLessons.com.... This video is placed under "Education" because I developed this video for my students at a language school. however, the movie could be made for travelers who want to improve their speaking and reduce their accent. Many people learn English to travel... So, go to www.scribd.com and search "It Sounds Like." Thank you!

  • This video was perfect. And it is not teaching English come one. He is teaching how to pronounce. First you learn English after, you search for getting better in your accent!

  • @gerpierro Good point, that is a misstatement at 1:16 of the video... It should be "sounds"

  • @julestags Good point. In order to make it a simple system, to keep the system easy for students to use, the distinction that you point out is not labeled. It's nice to know that there is a name for that little "iii" sound in "u"
