Continuing violence since the disputed general election in December has forced thousands to flee across the border into Uganda.
Police in the Rift Valley said today that five refugees had been killed when opposition supporters attacked them.
There have been deaths after a security crackdown in the Kibera slum, where protesters are ripping up a railway line after three days of mass action.
In Masaba hospital, there are 16 injured, including children, all with gunshot wounds and there are more injured still coming in.
Protesters managed to paralyse the main line from Nairobi to Uganda. But security forces patrol the railway today.
Opposition supporters have been told to switch tactics and go for sabotage and boycott.
They are burning barricades, and blocking roads and bridges this week.

In Kenya, the opposition announced today that protest over the election will resume next week.
Thousands of the Kikuyu tribe, who are the support base of President Kibaki, were driven out of their homes and attacked when the disputed elections were eventually declared in Kibaki's favour.
The European Union has threatened to suspend aid, and international mediators are gathering in the capital to try and break the deadlock between President Mwai Kibaki and his opponent, opposition leader Raila Odinga.
