Medgar Evers did something greater, and it was bringing forth social change, he try to change unfair mores, he wanted to bring forth change that was absolutely necessary for the country.
I think it is pretty insulting to the memory of Medgar Evers, MLK, malcolm, and Emmett Till to bear hatred against people who have a different color from ourselves. The message they want to give was loud and clear. We are all humans. We need to treat each other as humans, not because of the color of our skin.

that's okay what people can continue to hate black people, bc the brown and black folks are going after them also, and other way, see what's happening on wall street and around the world, we will get UUUUU whitey

@Footsniffer51 You're Absolutely right! This is true of ALL knowledge. From History to Religion to Politics and everything in between. If a man cannot or does not read, he can only go by what he is told. More black people should hear what you have to say "Footsniffer". Even through your hilarious profile name, it is obvious that you are an individual of great knowledge.

@lastwhiteman23 Yeah but you ARE a nigger... a bleached out one. FACT !!!!!!!

I think he'd be proud to see the progress that we've made, but we still have plenty of work ahead of us.

@MyLaughsAndSmiles: The reason you never heard about Medgar Evers in school or for that matter, ANY of the African-American men and women who gave the supreme sacrifice for justice is for the same reason slave owners went ballistic whenever they caught one of their slaves reading or learning how to read: knowledge. If you don't read, then you can't think, if you can't think, then you can't ask questions. If you don't ask questions, then you believe whatever you are told.
thank you medgar, thank you martin, thank you martin, thank malcolm, thank you kwame, thank you patrice, thank you fathers, thank mothers. thank you america
