  • What is this. I don't even.

    Part 1's missing unfortunately

  • '2001: A Spiritualized Odyssey' is the first film/sync project of The Almighty Sound. The project takes the video and subtitles from Kubrick's masterpiece 1968 film and gently lays Spiritualized's incredible catalog underneath. Part 1 was taken down by the Elvis Presley estate over copyright matters. The full film is freely downloadable if you're interested.

  • Fucking love "If I Were With Her Now" .... great work dude!

  • @sex6cult9revolution He wasnt scoring a film, he was just expirementing. I think its brilliant. And the abstract idea is the main idea of the projext i think.

  • That music -in the context of what's happening dramatically- is absolutely terrible. It makes absolutely no dramatic sense what so ever.

  • So... it's a big music video...?

  • (to follow up on my previous comment)

I do appreciate the work put into this and I think it was a cool idea. I just don't think it works (as I elaborated below).

  • I turned down the sound and used instrumental music by Coil (Time Machines, Remote Viewer).

I have listened to Spiritualized for 15 years now and I love them, but I see NO connection between them and the 2001 film. They're all about personal experience, happiness & sadness.

The music that I used was instrumental, first of all, meaning no interference of conflicting plots, ideas or characters. Secondly, it's impersonal & abstract.

Those are the beginning ingredients in soundtracking a film.

  • This is quite possibly the most interestingly bizarre thing I've come across on YouTube in a long time. I love 2001, and Spiritualized is one of my top five of all time. Good job!
