Ever since seeing Ice Road Truckers, I have wanted to visit the north of Canada, I'm from New Zealand, which is about as far away as you can get from the NWT.

I'm not sure of the minimum thickness, but when I came down from the ice road last week it was 1.7 meters (6 ft)
