  • I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry modern fuels, use 1:100 two stroke oil / mix as regualar driving fuel that keeps the old gaskets and metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions.

Most Porsche 911 vintage owners in Germany do so :)

API TC Oil is also fine replacement for all those expensive lead and internal engine cleaning addtives. Bosch says that.

  • @Haffschlappe Thanks for your hint! We will try it.

  • we are not a tyre service. we tuned this car carbs only (succesfully). this measuring is the final check.

  • Hallo, you are very welcome, I am member of the german Oldtimer society

DEUVET and we just inform all the Owners of valuable historic cars, that

the API TC Oil is the best solution to protect old alloy and cast materials in

aspiration and combustion areas of high performance 4 stroke vintage engines.

  • A good adjusted 100 stock Dino Fiat 2,4 has 170 / 180 HP some even more because they added some 246 GT Cams...210 HP etc..

You have to rejet and restore your carbs and Ignition adjustment thats all..sometimes the cams are seized..that can cost some serious amount of HP :)

But your car sounds fine !!!

  • Your Fiat Dino Ferrai 246GT has very good sound it reminds me at this vintage OPEL Commodore, wanna see it, please enter this into the searchfield of youtube:

    Opala 3 Carburadores!

  • Did I mention Ferrari Dino 206 or 246 ???

I just referred to Fiat Dino engines -

Agree that a well rebuilt engine can actually be better performing than it was originally amd even more reliable if properly built up=

  • No I think you're wrong, when you compare the ferrari dino 246 (which claimes to have 200+ bhp) engine with that of a 2400 fiat the engine is 100% equal.

And when an engine is fully restored very often the cylinders are replaced (with a better preforming set), the crankshaft is rebalanced and the old ignition system is replaced.

And my dad has a 2400 fiat dino and it definatly doesn't feels like 150 bhp.

  • Fiat claimed 160 hp for the 2000 and 180 hp for 2400 engine - I guess no more than 135 and

150 respectively at the wheel = Glad to hear from you =

  • What makes you think it is using tires that aren't produced anymore?
