This vid shows how to barbeque backyback ribs to perfection on a Weber charcoal grill. The process takes about 5 hours of cooking time because the ribs are being smoked on the grill using an indirect cooking method.

  • This was an excellent cooking lesson. Thank you and have a happy new year.

  • @DiamondFox420 Thanks for the nice comment! Happy New Year to you also.

  • I tried this but with that many coals, your temperature would be extremely high. I have a kettle grill too and one basket got the heat up to 400 degrees.

  • @Antiks72 You have 2 vents in a Weber grill, one in the lid and in the kettle. Use those to regulate temperature accordingly. It takes a little time, effort and practice to get it right but it's worth the effort. Start with too few coals and you wind up restocking them too often.

  • What did you use to hold the woodchips?

  • @SniperWestOaks I soak the woodchips in water and wrap them into aluminum foil. Make sure you poke some holes into the bottom of the pack.

  • @asm99q you missing out man bbq sauce is so much better when you put it on and let it cook for a bit.

  • great video man. LOTS of good info shown (i read through all the comments too and they were on point). gonna turn my weber kettle into a smoker THIS weekend =-)

  • did u put more charcoal during the 5hr process????

  • I don't like put BBQ sauce on my ribs until I am ready to eat but those ribs look pretty dammed good may try it

  • Your video brought back so many old memories. I had a Weber for about twenty years. Moved to a gas grill back in the '90s and I have not seen any difference in flavor. Now I have added a smoker oven to my arsenal. I'm going to have to make a video about how I do back ribs sometime. Great video!
