Pietenpol Picnic.mpg

This is a flight in Alan James Pietenpol Aircamper. Alan claims to have flown more passengers in his Pietenpol than a Jumbo Jet...he just flew them one at a time. This Aeroplane was designed in the 1920s by a Hill Billy called Bernie Pietenpol. The plans were published in Popular Mechanics. Alan built this one. Sorry about the mono sound track, this was made using crude equipment!

Great video and thanks for sharing! I'm sure no offense was meant, but Bernard Pietenpol was not a hillbilly. I encourage you to read Chet Peek's book, "The Pietenpol Story" to get a sense of the man.
