This group released two very good albums and they had hits like "Younger Girl" and "Mr. Dyingly Sad". Those two songs are very good and so is this great pop song, which was released as the The Critters' debut single in early 1966.

  • Children & Flowers was indeed sung by Jimmy Ryan. My high school band did shows with the Critters in and around our home base of Westfield, NJ. They were indeed a great band. When they began their recording career the lineup was: Kenny Gorka (bass), Jimmy Ryan (lead), Don Ciccone (rhythm), Chris Darway (keys) and Jack Decker (drums). They all sang except Jack. Their 3 biggest hits were Mr. Dyingly Sad, Younger Girl (both sung by Don) and Don't let the Rain Fall Down on Me (sung by Kenny).

  • @shipsley Thank you Sir Shipsley!...saw the Critters, Left Banke, Harper's Bazaar in concert back when we still had music...no brag...just blessed. Unless you lived in Jersey you most likely never heard the Critters at dances/heard their vocal version of "Exodus"/heard their cover of "Nowhere Man"...heard Ciconne sounding exactly like Little Anthony on "Hurts So Bad"...none better...awesome possum!...The Tunesmith
