@Condeye The way I see it: He destroyed the tapes, buried them, sprinkled alcohol on the soil, placed the bottle in it and danced a traditional burial dance: It says, as per my interpretation, that he won't be needing the recordings anymore for he is not go back to France and will live in the Gypsy village in Romania together with the Gypsy community and will live like they do. :).

@Rhinoch8 As he (stephane) said, he and his father didnt have much time together; like searching for nora luca, it's probably metaphorically searching for his fathers identity or like, getting to know his father. and so along his search for nora luca did he settle to one of the stop's of his traveler father which is this Gypsy village and planned to stay for good for he fell in love with everything in it (just like his father)..

@Rhinoch8 Nora Luca is not sabina. Nora Luca is Stephane's traveller Father's favorite singer. As per my interpretation, he stopped searching for Nora Luca when he realized that this music really is heard everywhere in the gypsy community like what izidor said when he first met stephane. The search for Nora Luca, for me, is metaphorically his search for answers or for self-fulfillment -like to fill a hole in him (stephane) which was dug when his father left him. :)
