I can tell ya this, Linux Mint puts microshit windows to shame thats for sure:) best thing I've ever installed on my laptop.

Mint is a "Themed" version of Ubuntu, not a hacked version. It takes the nice Debian base of Ubuntu and changes the ugly brown theme to something nice, adds a myriad of useful config tools, installs codecs for audio and video playback, and just all around makes a kick-arse distro.

Winamp 5.57 works great with wine. I had more than 3 people tell me they would not switch to Linux because it had no winamp. Don't people try things before they smack Linux around??? Just ignorent.

So far, everything i have tried to get going in Mint 9 has worked without too many errors/glitches excluding this one game; Killing Floor for steam.

@centerman7 Any other apps that you think dont work in mint for me to test????
-
@centerman7 Nope I have chrome as my default browser. I just downloaded it from thier site for deb. Works awsome.
-
@dupasqk I know, but still good apps like Chrome only work on Ubuntu (and I think one other Linux OS)

@ve3tru Mint is a "Themed" version of Ubuntu, not a hacked version. Like Politux said.

@centerman7 SO NOT TRUE. I have many windows games like Starcraft, Serious Sam HD, Torchlight, Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 and many others installed and working (pretty well) on linux mint 9. I also have buisness apps working in mint 9 like Simply Accounting by Sage, Nobeltec and Ausi Explorer.
If you have an app you want tested in mint 9, just provide me with a cd-code and I'll test it.
How do you get linux mint 10 to expand to full screen within virtualbox on Ubuntu 10.10 ?

I am currently running Linux Mint 9 RC as my only OS. It should be available in about a week. I have a few windows games working in Mint and I must say its far better than windows.

@dupasqk Nice. I will, at some point make a "Fiddling Around Linux Mint 9" when it comes out in a week or two. I loved Mint, but there is too little compatibility with programs. Ubuntu has the most, of course.
