Dead Boys doing a cover of the Guns n Roses song,ha ha ha.
I'm guessing this is roundabout 1979.
The ORIGINAL was done by Rocket(s) from the tombs.

  • thanks to Guns and Roses, if they didnt cover it I'd never known the dead boys :)

  • @kloppskalli I came in from a different angle,I knew about the Dead Boys and the GnR's song but didn't know about the link, both good versions I think.

  • class american punk

  • This is funny because folks are so nostaligic for this era now, but at the time we spent so much time talking about how not fun it was. Here's what's not funny: a lot of them realy did die young.

  • @milascave thats a valued point its strange how we tend to forget that a lot of the time we were just bored out of our minds for hours, days, weeks along with various attacks for looking "different" and being banned from pubs for not fitting in etc and indeed,a fair few number of people fell by the wayside.

  • GNR was actually form in the early 1980's. They were to begin touring with the original lineup (which included Axl, Izzy, and the guys from LA Guns) back in '85 but the guys from LA Guns backed out right before the tour they had arranged, hence LA Guns wasnt part of the original touring lineup. The GNR version was actually a cover of the Rocket From the Tombs/Dead Boys song. Although there are minor differences, Rocket From the Tombs and the Dead Boys are essentially the same band...

  • Where and when that Dead Boys gig was?

  • @redpunk1 I was born in 78 and unfortunately my parents dont listen to punk rock ;) so it needed the spaghetti incident to draw my attention to the dead boys

  • @milascave How could it be 1979? Guns and roses are not so old? Ramones came first and so on and on....

  • guns n' roses są lepsi.

  • @overcriveimion Johnny Blitz and Cheetah Chrome, of the Dead Boys, were in the Rockets from the Tombs--cover??
