Chief Meteorologist John Farley after 13 years with KNTV NBC Bay Area says his tearful goodbye with his final forecast and a big thanks to all of his viewers. He was a great weatherman who I got a chance to meet in 2007. John Farley started out as the weekend weather anchor in 1996 and then took over the Chief Meteorologist position in 1998 after Chris Donohoe moved out and freelanced at KTVU. Good luck John! • I haven't kept up with TV in a long time and I learned about his departure from NBC 11 a couple of weeks ago. I met John at a 4th of July event at the Children's Discovery Museum a few years ago. He's a very down to earth guy and really made the news shine. I hope he continues to serve the bay area with his is awesome talent.

  • John now works for PG&E in San Jose.

  • I have meet John Farley in person & he is a really great Friend I have known him for 3 yrs & even got to go to the NBC 11 Studio on Jan 15, 2008 & I will never forget it!

  • I have mete him back in September 2007 during the Living Well Expo and I really like his charisma. It's too bad what KNTV has done with there weather is making it cheap and outsourcing other weather anchors from it's sister stations. How pathetic!

  • What a bad move for NBC! We used to watch the news on that station just because they had the best weatherman. Now we've switched to another station and several of our friends have also.

  • The worst thing, on the weekends, they outsource the weather from KNBC in LA and KNSD in San Diego making it like a hub for those NBC affiliates to get the weather. How cheesy. John Farley will be definitely missed. I've since turned to Roberta Gonzales and Bill Martin for weather.

  • I met John in 2007, during a small visit with a group I was involved with over to the NBC studios, and he is a very nice guy. It was a pleasure watching him for all these years.

  • I can see why everyone misses him so much, he did his 1st day on WIS-10 in Columbia, South Carolina today. He seems like such a wonderful person.

Bay areas loss Columbia SC's gain.

  • Our new Chief Met at WIS 10 Columbia, SC!!

  • Fucking cocksuckers at nbc11. John was the best weatherman i have ever seen on tv. He was a true bad assed motherfucker. I miss you John. May NBC11 and tht stupid cunt Lisa Kim burn and rot in hell. Assholes.

  • Today is February 28th 2010, and I'm still havinga hard time understanding why Mr. Farely was "let go." John Farely is an excellent Meteorologist. We as a people often have the nasty habit of letting go of a sure thing, to explore the unknown. That is really too bad. Right now, I'd rather watch a JR. College television broadcast station, to get the weather report, from a student that is getting trained to do weather, than to watch a shady NBC11 that gets rid of folks for no reason.

  • Once again, NBC ruins a good thing. I realize it is NBC11 KNTV the affiliate, but they are idiots none the less. I bumped into Lisa Bernard (former news reporter for KNTV) who was caught up in the same downsizing. This is exactly why KNTV will never be as successful, both with the viewers or ratings, as KTVU.... They both are great professionals... what a waste!
