My first video which I recorded using my brand-new Canon DC201 camcorder.

I'm sorry about shaking, but that really doesn't matter so much.

Local Commuter train passing over level crossing.
This level crossing has warning lights, bells and full-sized gates, which one is articulated.

I think one main reason why this level crossing keeps bells ringing because this level crossing lacks V-Signal.
V-Signal is usually seen in level crossings fitted with warning devices, but this level crossing does not have that!

  • Why not use a tripod?

  • @SuperBenkoo I have used tripod within my later videos, but when I shot this video here I didn't had any tripod, and besides, I shot this video quite a long time ago, but about some time later I got the tripod, and I'm still proud of it, even though it is not that sturdy.

  • I'm pretty sure that wasn't a white light but amber.

It means the same thing as a Amber light on a normal traffic light here. Complete crossing or prepare to stop.

  • How many times I have to tell to other users, Amber light can only seen in UK and Germanian level crossings!!

  • I worked there for 6 years. The reason that the bells ring all the time is because there are lots of people sleeping there and also that runs under the gates, so they have extra warning. Thats why they have the things hanging under the gates.

  • Okay, then I understand why bells keeps ringing when gates are lowered.

  • @BobYork thx. Jag har menat på de riktade mot biltrafiken^^.

  • Oh, and I forgot last time. It does not have a V-signal because it is "secured" via the main signal, so the main signal does not show "Clear" (one or two green lights) unless the gates are lowered. The main signals have yellow triangle sign with a black "V" on it to tell the driver about this function.

  • @kurvjuh A bit late perhaps, but the white light means that the crossing is safe to cross. But it also means you have to keep some attention since there could still be railroad vehicles coming on the track.

  • @NeoFalcon69 It's a white light and not amber, it generally means the crossing is safe to cross.
