The Pique violin seems to resonate alot more and like nibelungensohn said, it's more sensitive to bow pressures. The sound also seems fuller with the Pique. I can't really hear much of a difference between the two other than that lol. :D

Have you listened to the recent James Ehnes album where he plays the same passage on a few violins? The differences between the violins are very easy to tell.
So which one do you like better?

I can't hear a huge difference between the two. What kind of mic are you using? The Pique sounds a bit more responsive to different bow pressures. The tone is cleaner and more brilliant. The Scarampella has a bigger, rounder bottom but doesn't have the range of colour that the Pique can generate. Well, at least that's how they sound on my speakers.
Also, the Pique looks huge, lol.

The mic is just the mic on my Sony Video Camera that I'm borrowing. I figured I wanted to hear what it sounded like recorded on YouTube. It sounds so very different under my ear.
