Yes, we can use the word THEM to generalize a segment of a population without there being any "danger". Mainly when "them" characterizes 90% of "them". Yes, there is a 10% error, but its something we can live with. Ugh... just add "exceptions not included". Boom.. done.
Example w/ Muslims: THEY are backward. (not all, but 90%) see?
