Bins

OMG, no one would believe this if there wasn't videgraphic evidence. After the grit channels, the wastewater passes through mechanical screens where anything larger than 10-15mm is 'filtered' out, and pulled up into these bins. Unfortunately, the screens dumps the screenings into one side of each bins, and it it falls to the operators in Work Area 1 (WA1) to regularly rake the bins. I used to call this 'toppling the condom mountain', and it involves raking the wall of screenings into the corners of the bin so that the full volume of the bin was realized. FYI, screenings=condoms+tampons+tampon applicators+candy wrappers+rags+plastic bags+raw vegetables+dead animal parts+ the holy grail of WA1; a tapeworm. Yes, the K Bomb saw a tape worm. I am so jealous..
