  • Not really what I was looking for. I was looking for some actual vector image tutorials (maby inkscape or adobe illustrator) not this because photoshop is bitmap editing program not vector :P. Just wanted to share that with everyone :D

  • @IforgotMyMedication You're right, photoshop does bitmap image, and illustrator does vector. But honestly they both come out looking the same. The vector has the advantage of being able to be resized into any size without loosing quality, but thats the only major difference. I'm way more comfortable with photoshop, and I don't have the desire to use it as an actual vector and resize it into different sizes, so I used photoshop in this tutorial.

  • terrible

  • @QucciMaMa how so?

  • @octotuts Ignore the prick. Nice work :o)

  • I have some basic tutorials on using sketchbook designer, using the mouse. I try to keep it simple and don't cover most of the advanced stuff. I don't think I went into layers or custom pallet at all even, just vectors mostly. I don't see why people would trace using freehand. If you have the dexterity, using a digitizer is fine for placing anchor points, which is what I do, but a mouse is also fine.

  • @frigrm Where's your tutorial?

  • Not smoothing strokes with a tablet is just backward.

Using photoshop to make "vectors" is even more backward.

Not using masks or selections in photoshop is just.....

It would have been faster to use a real vector program.. or at least just use the pen tool and then convert points..................

  • no offence but if that picture is of you then you look like a right fagot..

  • technically its not a Vector...

  • Change the title to "Create a cartoon in Photoshop" instead of confusing people who are not looking for cartoons or your explanation as to why it is similar to cartoon. There is a reason why each is called by a different name, to differentiate which is which, and not to be left to your discretion as to how to define the two processes. So, stop confusing viewers with your own choice of names just because you believe they are one and the same.
