  • Jesse J:Is one of the most underated gutarist I know.......He is a genius gutarist and a phenomenal musician. His fans know he doesn't get the credit he truely deserves.

  • jesse is and alwaws will be more bluse oriented than Prince he has an edge over him in that respect Prince may be more melodic than jesse but there is noo denying the brothers ability to throw down on the axe

  • @HypeRhymz

Prince was more acceptable in the industry because of his skin color. If Jesse was light-skinned, HE would've been promoted to the masses instead of being a member of a "funk band."

The industry is "color-struck" to this day. Many excellent white rappers never got a shot because of their skin color. In the beginning, Eminem was "authenticated" by Dr. Dre

  • @woOOui I dont know about 'had' but he's a legitimate guitarist with his own sound!!!!Jesse's dope but Prince's solos(just solos) are more thematic(they should like orchestral string-lines), Jesse's is hard blues mixed in with rock and funk(obviously).I guess you airing your opinion is 'keepin it real'.Cool!!!!! I love Jesse's playing too(I'm a bassist/guitarist and if I could suddenly sound like any guitarist I'd probably pick Hendrix with Jesse being a close 2nd choice).

  • @psychomajic666 I agree with a serious reunion, I'd LOVE to see that shit(it's REALLY special if you were around and old enough to be a part of that musical era). But, the more I think about it the more I'm unsure about the whole thang.Vanity/Appolonia 6 were good for the wardrobe(or lack of), the Time is Great and I've never seen the Family perform(Love the few songs they had but I'm a little worried). Jesse's Great, but his band? NahI would hate to ruin my memories everybody's so different now.

  • what's with the quality?!! DID U RECORD THIS OFF UHF? LMAO

  • Nice..

  • @ZebZachary yes i agree with you 100 percent . jesse is and had been one of my favorite's back to the 80's

i most recently for no other reason other to (check) if he is still recording and to my delite i found he has been here all the time, now i need to (catch up) with his album's , jesse is a (true) artist, and musican, that's why you do not see anyone on those (idol) show's trying to do his music, they simply can't

  • @Kohntarkosz Yeah. I believe that, because the people in music are selling brands and not music, Great thing is great black rock exist and thrive in spite of execs that don't think they're profitable...

  • Well, that's because of the record industry. Record executives think that "People don't want to see a black person playing guitar solos". I used to have an African American friend who played in a progressive rock band, and he told me a record exec once said "People won't buy a black band from Brooklyn playing art rock". Talk about stupid. :-(

  • i have this album on vinyl
